But this is superfluous to the discussion. I don't really think obesity was much of a problem way back in the 1500 B.C.E. fertile crescent. In fact, having a high degree of fat in the diet was actually a good thing since people often went for long periods without food when times got tough.

Just admit that Mosaic restrictions against pork were not based on the "scientific knowledge" of an omniscient God-law-giver, but rahter on the superstitions and life experiences of Jewish priests!
